In an earlier study , the scientists found that though pregnant and lactating people made fewer protective antibodies after the first vaccine dose than a control group, the difference disappeared after the second dose. A new study shows that even after two or three doses, p regnant people are nearly twice as likely to get covid-19 as those who are not pregnant .
